We talked about a long distance trip the week before July 4th. I'm unsure of timetables such as departure and return dates. But this is in the works. Post up if you're interested or have something to contribute!

I'm interested, the planning for a week out of work will be difficult, but let's see where we get with it.

Attention members: In regard to possible campgrounds near Windrock for the trip the last weekend in June (we did decide that it would be that weekend, correct?), I have found four campgrounds. The campgrounds look like we may have to reserve more than one site due to space limitations at the campsites. That would also depend upon the total number of people committed to going on this trip.
One campground (Indian Creek) does not have a website but you can search to read reviews by others. From what I've read, they do have tent sites. Their number is 865-435-0962. Their address is 1387 Cove Lane, Oliver Springs, TN 37840.
All appear to be close to the trails at Windrock, and the pricing looks like it runs from $15-18 a night per site per two people. Some sites state that they allow up to so many additional people at the rate of about $3 per additional person.
(Bruce, when you have time to read this will you please post the links to the club's site? Thank you!)

This is the response from Windrock Campground. Reservations are suggested, and there is no electricity in the tent area.
We do have several tent sites available for June 28 - June 30. With a
reservation you are able to choose your own sites when you get here, so it
would be up to you to select 3 side by side. That is never an issue, so you
wouldn't have to worry about getting your sites together. All tent camping
sites are primitive (no electricity).
If you would like to reserve 3 tent sites, please call the number below any
day of the week between 8:00am and 5:30pm.

Hey, y'all. I'm having a not so easy time finding tent sites near wind rock that have electricity. The site below is one campground that does have some tent sites with electricity. It's about 26 minutes from the trails at Wind Rock. Unless I'm missing some campground, this is the closest one I could find with electric. The man who runs it said call him back the week of the trip, and he'll work with us to get us in the sites with water and electric. Those run $28/night and are usually limited to two people and one tent, but he said he'd work with us to get us on that, too. Let me know your thoughts. Stay closer for a cheaper price with no electric, or go further out like this campground and pay more but have electricity?

The reviews on the Four Seasons campground are not flattering. So here's a basic question-- Are you all okay with a campsite that is further away from the trails (30 minutes or so) in order to have electricity? If so, how far out are you okay with?

Just bumping this to the top, Jimmy has 3 sites under his name reserved I believe he said he is staying from the 28th to the 1st? I won't be able to make it but I hope everyone has a good time!
