Just wanted to say Hello to everyone here.
My Name is Steven and I live in Jacksonville.
I started trying to wheel a S10 ZR2 a few years ago, being new to the sport, I thought that would do just fine. I found out very quick that the S10 in its stock form wasn’t going to cut it. So I started my up grades with trying to beef up the stock IFS with cast Iron housing and other mod to strength it. After spending a lot of time and money on it, I ended Up ripping the teeth off the front ring gear at Harlan, Had to Pull the CV’s out brake em down and stick the spindle ends back in the wheel bearing hubs and crank the end nuts down, crammed rags in the front axle tubes to keep the gear oil from coating the belly of the truck, Did this all in the camp ground, then the next day drove the sucker home a 10 hour trip, A few or you might have been their when it happened.?.?
Anyways that’s when I Guy named Bill (gogogadgetbiker) you all may know this guy.?.?
Told me about some axles and wheels, After kicking it around for a bit I broke down got a loan and it was game on a few months later. Bill did all the fab work for the SFA, I did help as much as I could showin up on the weekends, Bill had me doing all the fun stuff like cleaning all the rubber crap off the fame.

I have wheel my junk a few times now, some of you may have seen me at URE last August or September?
I was told about this site then but didn’t sign up then because I was worried I might not have a job, the company I work for closed one of it’s stores and I thought we were going to be next, and I might have had to sell the truck to clear some bills up,
Well I still have a Job and I really really didn’t want to sell my truck off anyways.

So here I am and you might be asking why?
To be very honest with you, I want to wheel but don’t have the funds yet to come up with a tow rig or a trailer. It’s on my list but it’s a very very long list.
I don’t have any wheeling buds around here, Just crazy ass Marines that like buying brand new trucks and sinking them.
What I am looking for is a crew to wheel with. Bust stuff with and help out when it happens. It sucks trying to wheel but scared to really try anything because I don’t have a way to get it all home. Not that I want to bust stuff “just saying”..

Ok here are some of the stats on my truck
Full width 79 ford hp Dana 44 With chromo axles and Spicer solid joints, 4.88 gears, and power-lok (front) 77 F150 outers to convert to 5 lug
Rear End GM 10 bolt 8.6" with 1.5" wheel spacers converted to ford 5 lug, 4.88s Detroit locker
Custom alcan leaf springs Front and rear +4 zr2 in rear +4 waggy springs in front.
NP233 T-case with slip yoke eliminator and 231C wide chain conversion With 6 pinion planetary
Custom Drive shafts front and rear
Bilstien shocks 5150's 14" travel Front -- 5125’s 14” travel Rear
Mickey Thompson classic II wheels 15x10 with 36x13.50 Iroc radials
Astro van steering box 1 ton tie rod and drag link, And high steer knuckles
That should just about cover the big stuff.

Total lift 15" over stock.

Still under construction!
Just ordered a set of inner airlocks and a set of rock rings from Inner Airlocks.
Need to add some armor under the t-case and strengthen the rock sliders.

Hiya Steven and welcome to the site

Glad to see the registration issues are resolved

We did run into you at UNF back in September last year. Watched you tackle kodak rock. I know you had to squeeze the cheeks just a little on that one

One of our members recognized your rig being over at Bills sometime in the past. Bill is on a sabbatacle working in Tenn for a while. We're looking forward to his eventual return.

Nothing wrong with driving your rig to the trail. I did that at one time and plan my next build to do just that. Just gotta remember that ya gotta drive it back home

Hopefully you can make the next club meeting.

Thanks for the help with the registration.

Yes Sir Sept was my last trip out to UNF, Looking at maybe going opening day or maybe the week after it opens?
I did make it up Kodak Rock, But I was just about ready to call it quits, when that guy help spot me, I had no idea my junk could go up that part of it. And yes I had some pucker factor going on seeing that I could only see sky.

As for the driving to and from the wheelin trips, I can handle it for a few more years.
I don't plan on doing anything crazy until I buy a trailer and tow rig anyways.

Think I missed this month’s meet? But I will make Feb. meet, unless something stupid happens.

I wasn't sure what was going on with Bill, I hadn't seen him on any of the forums, Good to know he is still alive and working.

Hell Ya! I plan on doing a few wheelin trips this year. It would be cool to wheel with ya all.

Also I have been given the go-head from the wife to show for this months meeting.
But I will not be driving the truck this time. It will be on blocks with all the wheels removed. I got a few things being added to it, But it should be able to roll in march

I will be in a 1990 white GEO Storm. Not a good looking car but it still gets 36 MPG's on the freeway.
