Hello All. We are planning on coming to the meeting next week. If it is okay with the President I thought we could discuss our trip menu then. Hopefully we will have good head count of all who is going also.

I know we were going to further discuss food at the meeting. But, I don't think we will be going out for breakfast since we are staying at the trails.

Jimmy....You up for cooking breakfast with me?

we had a comm. sgt. that was a retired Marine Capt.(mustanged up from private, wounded Viet Nam) that could set up out of one single axle trailer and a pick up.He would cook enough food over an open fire to feed 100 plus men at an event.I wished ya'll could have enjoyed the vittles he fixed for us.Anyhow, you should have seen the kettles, pans, grates he used to pull it off.His griddle was a piece of 3/16 thick plate 3'x5',2 frying pans that were 2 feet across. He also carried a silver service so our officers at their mess could be served saturday evening dinner in style. We would sit around our mess fires and laugh at the field officers trying to be all proper and dignified.

Jim had 5 others that would help with the cooking... a company would be designated as duty company for that particular meal to wash, clean up,tote wood, tote water.

Well, that's a nice story but how does it address your "small" pan issue?

John,we have 3 sites reserved with Len bringing his camper. With the number of folks and tow rigs being up there, might be more room with a tent than another camper unless it is a small size camper. Do a google search for Callalente atv park and that is the set of trails we will be on and where we will be camping.

It doesn't look like I will be able to make it this time, im having to put my 15 year dog down soon, and that will drain the funds. I am getting him cremated and a urn for him, so of course that is priority for me, looking foward to the next trip though.

You should be fine to bring your camper as long as it can be leveled easily. The problem w/ Callalantee is the camping area is mostly on a hill. My coach doesn't have any kind of leveling system, I have to use blocks. As far as space goes, we have reserved three spaces, only because we're in with a local it's usually first come first serve, but there should be plenty of room. The only question will be how level will the spots be. The earlier you get there the better chance you have of getting a fairly level spot.

Hey Joe, can Doug get us an additional space in case John needs it so we can all be together?

Bri IS working this weekend. Depending on when everyone leaves, I should be free to go. I have a tow rig if someone needs me to drive.

okay,we got the cabin. Now Doug got it lined up for Friday night and Saturday night. Now don't get in an uproar about it tho,we will probably still get it for Thursday night also unless there isn't enough folks showing up to warrant getting it for 100 dollar pop.So right now,we need to know what time folks are planning on showing up. I will start with myself.

Jimmy:arriving Thursday evening,leaving Sunday mornin .
Len, Xenia and Nicholai: Thursday Evening, leaving Sunday Morning

Directions to Callalantee for those who don't know:
Get to Boone NC and then:

Directions from Boone, NC: Go North on US 421 to Mountain City, TN. Turn right on TN 418, go approx 2.7mi. Turn right on Furnace Creek Road, go 0.7 miles, and Callalantee ATV & Campground is on the right.

TN 418 will change into S.Church St / N.Church St. / 91N

We should have plenty of room so it shouldn't be a problem, especially if we have the cabin.
