Guys

Since it was brought up at the meeting to update the site, I was looking at our uploaded themes to figure out which ones would lend themselves to a relative hassle free banner change that still maintained full lenght text boxes and no icon errors.

Since nearly every theme has different banner sizes let's first make up our minds which theme we like the best. Then Banners can be uploaded and changed.

The previous theme and this current theme looks to be the easyist to convert. The Banner in this theme is the graphed sky blue pattern above. These banners can be changed rather easily once I have some banners to upload.

You all make up your minds on which one you like and we'll go from there.

I like it better too.....It would be really cool if there were a large group shot behnd the threads (like a wall paper). It wouldnt need to move, could just be a cool back ground as you surfed thru our site.

Looks cool. Pics on both sides of the forum screen where the light blue/gray currently is would be cool too.

Not a problem to do.

To explain a liitle clearer on what can be done----

The Banner can be changed without great difficulty. In this theme the banner is the sky blue grid on the top with NCKrawlers text in the upper left.

Background changes, side banners can not be done with this theme nor any other themes currently uploaded. Current uploaded themes are either themes that came with the basic package, or themes that were developed by other users of this software which were downloaded from the e107 site then uploaded to our site to the MySQL/php data base via ftp.

In order to extensively change things the requires the use of custom theme creation tools, which is a rather extensive task and something I would have to spend alot of time on and contend with the learning curve of it

Now getting back to banner changes, all is need is some pictures of what you all would like to see. Those pictures need to be resized to the size of the current banner. I do Beleive that a custom banner can be uploaded for different pages meaning we can have one banner for the homepage, another for the forums page, another for the gallery page, etc etc. This will only take me a couple hours to complete once I have the pictures

Ed, if we leave the blue banner up top, can the club name look more like our logo as opposed to the plain block text that is there now?

The banner in this thread can be used.

http://www.nckrawlers.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?65

It needed to be resized to the size of the banner on the old theme and converted to a png format. The software I have for photo editing didn't recognize png formats so I could never do something with it. Then it sorted died out as a topic.

It was later discussed at a meeting and several different opinions were voiced and well that kinda finished it off

The issue has always been getting everyone to agree on what they want. This makes things difficult to do when you have 25 guys wanting 10 different things

Seeing how there has been some positive comments on using this theme....

You all pick out what you want for banners....

Those of you who voiced you desires at the meeting, come up with something you like, otherwise I'll come up with something and go from there

You all decide which theme you like this best. The three that have been displayed all lend themselves well to banner modification

The issue with this theme is the profile icon isn't displaying like it is supposed to

The theme that was displayed for mostly the past couple years is called exas/xp

The previous theme was called Veneka Blue

This one is called infectus.

Once a decision is made then the dimension/format of the previously discussed banner can be established. Then someone(other than me) needs to produce it, then I can alter the theme accordlingly

Code has been altered to accept the current banner. Not sure if it meets personal definitions of more 4x4 like

If someone wants something else then provide it

The photo is from a trip a couple years ago. Gregs front drive shaft fell out. This is a pic that was in our members gallery run thru corel photo. There just wern't to many pictures that would lend themselves to the resizing deminisions
requirement to fit the banner size allotment. Problem is the distortion that occurs when you squeeze them down that far
